For information only
This article will describe ways you can use the "For information only" field that appears in the "Basic Case Information" category of the "Incident Report Form".
Function:
- Some use "For information only" marked records as "First Aid" records.
- Some may choose not to submit every incident to their workers’ compensation insurance carrier.
- Zurich treats "For information only" records as "Let Rest" incidents when transmitted.
- Some use "For information only" to enter "near-misses" that do not result in a workers’ comp claim into the FirstReport Online database.
Process
- The "For information only" field is unchecked by default.
- Check the "For information only" field if you want to designate the incident as a "For information only" case.
- If "For information only" is checked?
- The legend "For Information Only – Do Not File" will appear at the top of the workers’ comp first report of injury form. The exact position of this legend will vary depending upon the layout of the state-specific first report form.
- The "For information only" field can be included as a column in a summary report by checking the "InfoOnly" field when creating summary reports.
