Overview:
The 4.2 Release is a combination of three major areas of work. The user will see changes in only one of these three areas, 1. The application features. The other two areas are 2. The server hardware and software upgrades and 3. The application software architecture. These "hidden" upgrades are important for more rapid deployment and performance in the future. This article will focus on the new application features. Separate articles can be found in the Helpdesk to dig deeper into an item.
The User:
This Release is designed so that current users do not require any training to continue with this service. The "Task bar" style and functions are exactly the same. What has changed is the "Quick Access" to records and reports in the database.
There is a new type of user now. The CPA Only (root cause analysis) user. This user has permission to create a "Basic" report instead of a full incident report based on a safety observation. The Basic report can then be the subject of the CPA report and include case notes and notifications. The CPA Only user can also perform a CPA report on a full incident but only see non-private data to perform the analysis.
*** Note: all functions are available to the extent that the UserID has permissions. ***
The Home page: (or User Summary page)
What's missing?
The Organization Level Summary and the Information Summary are on a new page. Select the Blue "Summary" button on the bottom of the Home page to view it just like before.
The green arrows in the sections are no longer needed on the Home page. That's it!
What's new?
Incidents - Basic. There is a new record type called Basic. It is intended for non-incident observations. The Basic form data can not be upgraded or transferred to a full blown incident record later. If you are capturing early information on an illness or injury don't use the Basic form.
Incidents - Go To. In this Release if you know the FROL ID# you can go directly to the incident record like always and now the Case Notes or the CPA data input form for that record.
"i" links. You can always find links to an article on the whole page overview in the "Task Bar" Help button up top, but "i"s will offer a link to the Helpdesk article for that specific section in depth.
Announcements. This information will change as needed. If more words or pictures are needed, you should follow the More Details link. These messages are common and system wide. The targeting will be toward topics not specific customers or users.
Quick Access - Incidents. Here you can see a rolling list of the most recent records you have worked on. The magnifier pops a quick view of key information. You can make some "Favorites" so they stick around awhile instead of rolling off the list. In Manage, select a record and go directly to the CPA or notes forms for it. Report, lets you generate the variety of incident reports without have to open the record. Select Record under the Edit button to actually open the full record in the standard Edit mode.
Quick Access - Organization. Here you can see a rolling list of the most recent records you have worked on. The magnifier pops a quick view of key information. You can make some "Favorites" so they stick around awhile instead of rolling off the list. In Manage, as an Admin you have direct paths to a wide variety of functions that happen based on what level you want. Like to edit or create users, edit lost time, or open OSHA reports. In Report, you easily create managements reports some you may not have realized were always there. Edit, takes you right to that organization level profile if it needs editing.
Events and Reminders. Here you can see a rolling list of the most recent records you have worked on with a description of what was done. The magnifier pops a quick view of key information. You can make some events "Favorites" so they stick around awhile instead of rolling off the list. you can also move the event as a "Recent" to Quick Access - Incidents.
