Opening Excel Reports
Opening Excel Reports Issue:
Certain customers may experience cumbersome error messages when trying to open Excel file type reports in FirstReport Online.
WHY:
This appears to only occur with Excel file types and is believed to be the case because MicroSoft Excel supports SharePoint type file editing on remote servers. When certain customer MS Officeconfigurations encounter our high level security certificate, errors and issues relating to our certificate occur.
What to Do:
Simply "Download/save" the report and then "Open" it instead opening and then "Saving."
You can/should do this for any generated report in FROL, not just Excel.
How to do it::
Here is the Easy "Step-by-Step"
- Generate the report
- "Right-click" on the white text in the Red bar of the "Last Report Generated"
- Select "Save Target As"
- After you save the file to your local computer it will prompt you to "Open" if you like.
